Asian short-clawed otters feed mainly on crabs, mudskippers and fish however its diet varies seasonally. When and where available, it also catches snakes, frogs, insects, rats and rice field fish like catfish

Asian Short Clawed Otters on average eat about 25% of their body weight daily. For their size that means they eat more than 4 X more than an elephant and if the average 6ft man were an otter they would have to eat 18kgs of food a day. That’s about 105 battered cods
