Conservation and Research at BCA Zoo

BCA Zoo proudly supports numerous important in-situ and ex-situ conservation projects, a number of which are directly related to some of the critically endangered species you can see at the zoo.

A number of our Family Zoo Days are themed around these projects where you will have the opportunity to learn about them in more depth and, if you wish too, support them yourselves.

The staff and students at BCA Zoo have done everything from organising fundraising events to participating in writing best practice husbandry guidelines for some of the critically endangered animals that we work with.

Below are a number of the projects in which we support. You can read what the project involves and what BCA Zoo is doing to help.

Under the current Government roadmap we are planning on reopening the week commencing the 12th of April for Zoo Tours and Meerkat Encounters. All other activities will resume from the 17th of May.

From the 12th - 18th of April we will have roadworks going on along the main drive. Please enter using the Honey Lane entrance if you have booked a date during that period. For directions click here.
