Animal Academy

Animal Academy at BCA Zoo:

Animal Academy will be running as a single day course from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm offering children the chance to come and learn all about the different animals we keep here at BCA.

Students will spend time on each of our three key sections, livestock, exotics (reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates) and the zoo courtyard. They will be expected to get stuck in learning a range of skills from animal husbandry such as cleaning and feeding to health checks and handling along the way.

Overalls will be provided for this course and students will receive a certificate at the end of the day.

From 3:30 pm parents/carers are welcome to come along to watch the last activity of the day. Please note due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 2 spectators per child may attend.

This encounter is suitable for 7 – 13-year-olds. Groups will consist of 6 children.

This encounter runs from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm with up to an hour for lunch. Please ensure your child brings a packed lunch with them as no food will be available on the day.
