A couple of weeks ago we gave you the exciting news that we had successfully bred our Critically Endangered lemur leaf frogs. We can now let you know that the tadpoles are doing great and growing fast.

There are around 14 tadpoles that hatched out successfully which are now being raised on a diet of algae and fish flakes.

The tadpoles remained fairly motionless for the first few days after hatching as they were still absorbing some of the remaining nutrients from the eggs they were in.

The video below shows that the tadpoles are now very much ‘up and about’ and exploring their environment.

Keep an eye on our news feed for more tadpole updates in the future.
