Our Vision
To inspire and empower future generations to protect and care for wildlife through immersive education, ethical animal care, and meaningful conservation action.
Our Mission
To support conservation through education, to provide exceptional animal welfare, and to offer students and the wider community real-world opportunities to engage with global and local environmental challenges. As part of Berkshire College of Agriculture, we strive to develop skilled, informed, and compassionate individuals ready to contribute to the future of the natural world.
Conservation and Research at BCA Zoo
BCA Zoo has proudly supported numerous important in-situ and ex-situ conservation projects over the years, a number of which are directly related to some of the critically endangered species you can see at the zoo.
For 2023 we have decided to focus our fundraising efforts towards Saving Wildcats a charity that is dedicated to helping the reintroduction of Scottish Wildcats along with working on action plans to secure their future for generations to come.
The staff and students at BCA Zoo have done everything from organising fundraising events to participating in writing best practice husbandry guidelines for some of the critically endangered animals that we work with.
Below are a number of the projects which we have supported. You can read what the project involves and what BCA Zoo is doing to help.
