Zookeeper Experience

Spend four hours experiencing what it’s like to be a Zookeeper here at BCA Zoo. Come and help behind the scenes to feed, clean and look after some of the amazing animals living here. After a health and safety briefing, you will head over to our Zoo kitchen to help rustle up some unusual lunches before dishing them out to the animal eagerly anticipating your arrival. You will then get a chance to get mucky helping to clean up after our cheeky meerkats and their neighbour Denzil, our famous porcupine.

This experience is suitable for all animal enthusiasts, but can be tailored to suit – so if know a farmyard fanatic or a lizard lover, please do get in touch with specific requirements.

This encounter is suitable for 7 years +. We offer adult only experiences, child only experiences, or book in with group of family of friends.

Child booking
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Each child booking automatically receives one free spectator ticket. You are permitted to purchase one extra spectator ticket per booking, totalling 2 spectators per child Spectator Tickets.
Adult booking
You are permitted to purchase one extra spectator ticket per booking. Spectator Tickets.

This encounter will last approximately 4 hours, finishing at 1.30pm

Sturdy closed-toe shoes must be worn to take part in this encounter. We do also recommend wearing long trousers and long-sleeved t-shirts.

You are welcome to bring cameras with you to take photos however BCA accepts no liability for damage to goods.

We recommend ensuring you are up to date with your tetanus vaccinations before taking part in an animal encounter. It is your responsibility to check you are happy with the vaccination status of anyone in your party.
